Even More New Podcasts in the Works

Posted by Bobby · Tuesday, May 06, 2014

The hits just keep on coming. In addition to "Ancient Paths" with Fr. James Guirguis and "Recollecting Glory" with Dr. John Mark Reynolds, both of which debut later this week, we have two additional podcasts in various states of development. First up will probably be "The Seeking Heart" with Jodie Boychuk. Jody is the author of the "Imperfectly Ordinary" blog and the creator of "Grumpy Orthodox Cat," and her podcast will feature both short, informal, essay-style ruminations about how Orthodox Christianity applies to modern life and Q&A sessions in which she will answer one or two questions posed by inquirers into Orthodoxy.

The other podcast is "On Social Justice" with Mariam Youseff. Mariam lives in Los Angeles, California, where she works as an educator in South Central Los Angeles. She is also a student at Claremont Graduate University in the department of Women and Religion. Her podcast will explore biblical and patristic writings that deal with social justice and apply them to current situations around the world. Look for both podcasts within the month!

What happens when your kids are big fans of American Idol but also love Pascha? Apparently, this:

Yes, those are my two older daughters, along with three of their cousins. I hope you are having a blessed Bright Week. Christ is risen!

New Podcasts

Posted by Bobby · Thursday, April 10, 2014

Just a quick post to tell you about some of the many new podcasts that we are currently developing. First up is “The Life of Faith: Orthodoxy in the Modern World” with Fr. Vassilios Papavassiliou, which should debut sometime today. In it, Fr. Vassilios, a priest of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Thyateira and Great Britain, will present a series of reflections and commentaries on Orthodox life, faith, and theology. Likewise in development is “Orthodoxy Behind Bars: Updates and Reflections on the Orthodox Christian Prison Ministry,” which will of course be hosted by OCPM. This podcast will consist mainly of interviews regarding the ways in which the Orthodox Church is ministering to those in prison. And then there is the self-explanatory “Ancient Paths: Sermons and Meditations to Challenge, Inspire, and Transform” with Fr. James Guirguis, the priest at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church in New Hartford, New York. There are several other podcasts being developed as well—and more video podcasts!—but they are too early in the process to announce. Here's the cover art for “The Life of Faith.”
