Transcript

At that time, as Jesus entered a village, he was met by ten lepers, who stood at a distance and lifted up their voices and said, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.” When Jesus saw them he said to them, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went they were cleansed.

Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back praising God with a loud voice; and fell on his face at Jesus’ feet, giving him thanks. Now he was a Samaritan. 

Then said Jesus, “Were not ten cleansed? Where are the nine? Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?” And Jesus said to him, “Rise and go your way; your faith has made you well.”

1. Did the ten lepers in this story come right up to Jesus? What did they do?
2. Why do you think they stood at a distance?
3. They didn’t just call Him Jesus. What else did they call Him? Why did they do that?
4. Do we ever call anyone master during a church service? Who?
5. Why do you think we call our bishop master? What are we saying about him by calling him that?
6. What do you like about the idea of calling Jesus or our bishop master? What do you dislike about it?
7. What can calling another person master teach us about ourselves?
