Jesus our Lord said God loved the world very much. He loved it so much that he sent his only Son, Jesus. Why did he send Jesus? In this world, bad things happen. We don’t want to do bad things, but sometimes we do. We need to be saved from this world where bad things happen. God wanted us to know that His Son Jesus can lead us to a better place.
Jesus was crucified and died. He rose from the dead. When Jesus died, he opened the gates of heaven again. Now we can live forever with God. We can be saved from this world. If we stay close to Jesus in prayer, and if we go to church, and if we do what Jesus teaches us to do, we will live forever…

In today’s Gospel, Jesus tells us how to follow Him. He said that we cannot just do what we want to do. He said we should do what He wants us to do. Sometimes that will be hard, just like it was hard for Jesus to die on the cross for us. But if we do what God wants, we will be saved.
Jesus said that nothing on earth is better than our soul. He said we will lose our soul if we just do what we want while we’re alive. He said we should not be embarrassed to follow Him. He also said we should not be embarrassed of His words.

At that time, the crowd was pressing in on Jesus, listening to the word of God. Jesus was standing by the lake of Gennes’ aret. Getting into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, Jesus asked him to put out a little from the land. And he sat down and taught the people from the boat.
And when Jesus had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” And Simon answered, “Master, we toiled all night and took nothing! But at your word I will let down the nets.” And when they had…

One day, Jesus was near a lake. A lot of people wanted to hear Him talking. They got so close to Him that it was hard to talk!  He saw some fishermen who were done fishing for the day. He asked Simon, one of them, to take him out in his boat. Simon did, so Jesus could talk to all the people. When He stopped talking, Jesus told Simon to go out in the deep. They did. Then Jesus told Simon to go fishing. Simon told Jesus that they had been fishing all night and did not catch any fish. He did not think they would catch any now. But he obeyed Jesus and put his net in the water.
Simon pulled the net to get it out of the water. He pulled…

The Lord said, “As you wish that men would do to you, do so to them. If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. And if you lend to those from whom you hope to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to receive as much again.
“But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for he is kind to the ungrateful and the selfish. Be merciful, even as your…
