Abba Or on pursuing restoration after you've talked badly about someone.
Transcript
There are few things more embarrassing than having someone learn about a terrible thing you’ve said about him or her. And, of course, the most humiliating thing about it is that you know you shouldn’t have said that thing in the first place. So what do you do now?
Abba Or says,
If you have spoken evil of your brother, and you are stricken with remorse, go and kneel down before him and say: ‘I have spoken badly of you; let this be my surety that I will not spread this slander any further.’ For detraction is death to the soul.
It’s hard to admit when we’re wrong, but it’s the only way to be truly restored to a person.
"By listening to you on my PC at work, some who do not believe in God, and only know what non-Orthodox people tell them are tuning in to listen to your music and prayers, as well as all the educational material you supply. I know I have learned more about my faith due to your efforts than anywhere else. Thank you for your hard work and talent that you bring to this ministry."
