St. Kosmas Aitolos on listening to advice.
Transcript
Do you hate it when people give you advice? Some of us would rather get hopelessly lost than stop and ask for directions. We do need, however, to be open to receiving guidance from others.
Here’s what St. Kosmas Aitolos says:
Grace may be hidden in advice given by a neighbor. Sometimes it also accompanies our understanding during reading, and as a natural result teaches our intellect the truth about itself. If, then, we do not hide the talent given to us in this way, we shall enter actively into the joy of the Lord.
So, the next time a friend gives you some unsolicited advice, think about it—it may be a source of grace.
"It is my firm belief that listening to Ancient Faith Radio can provide an important building block of an authentic Orthodox spiritual life. I listen to the Ancient Faith music feed while working at my secular job as a computer programmer. It helps cut back on idle conversation and sanctifies the time, bringing spiritual life to the mind and heart. I have determined to support your ministry regularly, and encourage others to do so also. Many Years!"
