The Duty of All Christians
August 10, 2010 Length: 1:01
St. Dimitry of Rostov on our duty to be united to God.
Transcript
Orthodox Christians have many rules and responsibilities in our spiritual lives. St. Dimitry of Rostov goes on to tell us that Christians have one supreme duty:
…to strive always and in every way to be united with God, their creator, lover, benefactor, and their supreme good, by Whom and for Whom they were created. This is because the center and the final purpose of the soul, which God created, must be God Himself alone, and nothing else—God from Whom the soul has received its life and its nature, and for Whom it must eternally live.
"Since I discovered Ancient Faith Radio it has become part of my life, and I feel very much part of the Orthodox Church and grateful for all that it means to me."
