You’ll Never Pray Alone

Elder Herman of Mt. Athos on praying with the angels and saints.
Transcript
When we’re feeling down, prayer can seem like a truly lonely activity. It can feel like it’s just you in a room, talking to the ceiling. At times like this, it’s particularly important to remember that there is a great crowd watching and praying with us.
Elder Herman of Mt. Athos says,
When you are praying alone, and your spirit is dejected, and you are wearied and oppressed by your loneliness, remember then, as always, that God the Trinity looks upon you with eyes brighter than the sun; also all the angels, your own Guardian Angel, and all the Saints of God. Truly they do; for they are all one in God, and where God is, there are they also.
Do you know that Broadway song, “You’ll Never Walk Alone?” Well, you’ll never pray alone.
"You may be surprised to learn that a Byzantine Rite (Catholic) Church introduced me to your station and re-introduced me after 30 years to Orthodoxy! Thank you all very much and keep up the good work of evangelization!"
