The US Army used to run a promotional slogan saying, “Be all you can be.” The slogan was so popular because it tapped into the human desire to reach our full potential. But what, really, is our full potential?
St. Maximos the Confessor tells us the answer to this question can be found in Christ’s Incarnation:
If it was for us that the Word of God in His Incarnation descended into the lower parts of the earth and ascended above all the heavens, while being Himself perfectly unmoved, He underwent in Himself through the incarnation as man our future destiny. Let the one who is moved by a love of knowledge mystically rejoice in learning of the great destiny which He has promised to those who love the Lord.
"I was browsing through this site and came across a podcast about the history of the Orthodox Church in Alaska. It was part of the American Orthodox History podcast, I believe. It caught my eye because I'm an Alaskan Native teen and wanted to know more about how Orthodoxy came to be here. I listened to the three parts. It was very enlightening, and it gave me so many more reasons to be proud as an Orthodox Christian. On top of listening to the music from this site, I will now also listen to the podcasts, because they give me so much insight! Thank you guys for all the amazing content available here."
