From March 1st-3rd, 2013, St. Jonah Orthodox Church in Spring, Texas, hosted an exhibition of Russian Orthodox icons from the 18th and 19th centuries and a celebration of Orthodox Christian liturgical music.Titled “Sacred Art, Sacred Music,” the event featured presentations by Archimandrite Luke Murianka, Abbot of Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, NY, and Northern Kentucky University music department chair Kurt Sander; more than 50 icons depicting Christ, the Virgin Mary, saints, and other subjects; and an extended choral performance on Sunday afternoon after Liturgy.
