From March 1-3, 2013, Holy Cross-Holy Trinity Orthodox Church in Birmingham, Alabama, hosted a retreat titled “An Invitation to Be Orthodox on Purpose.” Leading the retreat was Fr. Evan Armatas, priest at St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church in Loveland, Colorado, and the host of the AFR live call-in program “Orthodoxy Live.” The retreat had the icon of Zacchaeus for a theme and was designed to invite and encourage Orthodox Christians to choose to live their faith on purpose.
