Wednesday, November 6, 2024 50 mins

Joe delves into the story of Abraham and the sacrifice of Isaac—a story that reveals how we must undergo human experience and risk to come to real trust in God, and that to live by trust in God does not remove pain and human struggle. About
The late V. Rev. Dr. Joseph J. Allen (1943-2020) was a prolific author, professor, theologian, and director of theological and pastoral education for the Antiochian Orthodox Archdiocese. He was also the pastor of St. Anthony Orthodox Church in Bergenfield, New Jersey, for over 53 years. Fr. Joseph’s unique storytelling ability, combined with a proficiency not only in pastoral theology—his doctoral field—but also in homiletics, comes through in his lectures, which were recently recovered, edited, and digitized from a long-forgotten set of cassette tapes.
